Sai Pallavi Film Career 2005 - Present

Pallavi appeared as a kid actress in Kasthuri Maan (2005) and Dhaam Dhoom in uncredited roles (2008).

While she was studying in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2014, Alphonse Puthren offered her the role of Malar in his film Premam. She shot the video over the holidays and then went back to school after it was finished. As a result of her job, she earned the moniker "Malar Teacher." She received several "Best Female Debut" awards that year, including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

In late 2015, she took a month off from school to film her second film, Kali, which was released in March 2016. For her work as Anjali, a young woman dealing with her husband's considerable anger issues, she was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Malayalam.

In 2017, she made her Telugu debut in Sekhar Kammula's Fidaa, playing Bhanumathi, a fiery rural girl from Telangana. Her performance in the film was selected one of the "100 Greatest Performances of the Decade" by Film Companion. Her next collaboration with director A.L. Vijay was Diya, a Tamil–Telugu bilingual film that did well at the box office. Later, she co-starred with Dhanush in Balaji Mohan's Tamil film Maari 2, a sequel to Maari. Rowdy Baby, a song from the film, is the most viewed song from South India on YouTube.

Pallavi began filming for Sharwanand's film Padi Padi Leche Manasu in February 2018, but the film bombed at the box office. Several news agencies reported in December that she had refused to accept her full remuneration, expressing solidarity with the film's creators over the film's failure. In the psychological thriller Athiran, she played an autistic girl opposite Fahadh Faasil in 2019.

She was named one of India's 30 under 30 in 2020 by Forbes magazine. She was the only person on the list who worked in the movie business. Vetrimaaran's Oor Iravu, a Netflix anthology film series based on Paava Kadhaigal, also included her.

In 2021, she co-starred in Love Story with Naga Chaitanya, her second collaboration with Sekhar Kammula after Fidaa (2017), and Shyam Singha Roy opposite Nani in their second collaboration after MCA.

Her next film is Virata Parvam, in which she co-stars with Rana Daggubati. She has signed on to star in the film Gargi, which was written and directed by Gautham Ramchandran and is said to be about a lady struggling for justice.
