One Movie Many Awards Win 'Premam'
Following an official announcement in February 2014, principal photography on the film began in July and lasted for five months, from July to November 2014. The majority of the movie was filmed in and around Aluva and Kochi. Premam was launched in Kerala on May 28, 2015, and across India the next day. The film was a commercial triumph, grossing $600 million on a $40 million budget. The film was named one of The Hindu's top 25 Malayalam films of the decade, and it went on to become a cult favorite. The film received nominations and accolades in a number of categories, with special praise for its directing, screenplay, Nivin and Pallavi's acting, soundtrack, cinematography, and editing.The film had a 175-day run in Kerala and a 275-day run in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In 2016, the film was remade in Telugu with the same title.
Premam was nominated in seven categories at the 63rd Filmfare Awards South, winning Best Female Debut (Sai Pallavi) and Best Male Playback Singer (Vijay Yesudas for "Malare"). It earned fifteen nominations and won seven awards at the 5th South Indian International Movie Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Music Director, Best Lyricist, and Best Male Playback Singer (Vijay Yesudas). Best Actor Critics and Best Debut Actress went to Nivin and Sai Pallavi, respectively. It garnered nine nominations and four wins at the 1st IIFA Utsavam, including Best Performance in a Comic Role, Best Music Direction, Best Lyricist, and Best Male Playback Singer.The film won six Asianet Film Awards, six Vanitha Film Awards, three Asianet Comedy Awards, four Asiavision Awards, and two CPC Cine Awards, among other accolades. However, the Kerala State Cinema Awards, which are the official state film awards granted by the Kerala government, did not consider the film. Nivin's performance was named one of the 100 Greatest Performances of the Decade by Film Companion.

Movie Story
Part 1: 2000
George David, a 16-year-old pre-degree student, is smitten with Mary, the most beautiful schoolgirl in his locality, Aluva, Kerala. George and his buddies Shambu and Koya frequently follow Mary around in an attempt to speak with her, but he is terrified of her father, who beats up lads who bother his daughter.Mary is admired by many men for her good looks, which are well recognized. Nonetheless, every time he summons the bravery to speak with her, something unexpected arises, leaving George unsatisfied. When he learns that Mary is in a relationship with another boy named George, he is devastated. She also requests for his assistance in dating without her family's knowledge. He assists her in dealing with a pained heart. When George, Shambu, and Koya reflect on their academic prospects following a poor performance on their year-end examination, the gravity of life finally hits them.
Part 2: 2005
George and his friends are accepted to a university. George and his buddies meet Malar, a new lecturer at their institution who happens to have a Tamil background, one day while on a ragging spree. George falls in love with her right away and appears to persuade her to feel the same way. Her dancing abilities impress him as well, as she performs an incredible dance with his squad. He prolong their connection and considers marriage because he is convinced of their love for each other. Simultaneously, George's college professor, Vimal Sir, falls in love with her and attempts to court her with the help of his friend, Shivan sir, a PT teacher. Malar visits her family in Kodaikanal with her cousin Arivazhagan later that year. who is supposed to be her, according to tradition. Weeks later, the college announces that Malar had been in an accident and had resigned as a lecturer as a result. To see Malar, George and his companions immediately ride to Kodaikanal. Malar had lost part of her memory as a result of her injuries in the accident. She doesn't recognize George and has no recollection of their relationship. Malar marries her cousin Arivazhagan, and George attends her wedding reception with his pals, devastated.
Part 3: 2014
With his boyhood pal Jojo, George, now 30, operates a café. In his café, George meets Celine, a 22-year-old woman with whom he strikes up a friendship. He subsequently finds she is the same girl who used to stroll with Mary, and the two become fast friends. George decides to propose to Celine despite their age gap. She is, however, ready to get married to Roney Varghese, a cocaine addict. During their engagement, Roney repeatedly criticizes Celine, causing their wedding to be called off. Roney continues to phone and bother Celine, which irritates George, who responds by beating him up with his cronies.
George marries Celine in the end. Malar and her spouse arrive for their wedding reception. Malar was invited to Celine's wedding. Despite the fact that Malar had regained her memories, she did not tell George because he was content with Celine and she needed to leave things alone.
